A documentary that looks at pundits-for-hire who present themselves as scientific authorities as they speak about topics like toxic chemicals, pharmaceuticals and climate change. Part of the SU Environmental Film Festival 2017

Director: Robert Kenner

Country: USA

Language: English

In the US, a small group of so-called scientists and experts, commissioned by big influencial companies and lobbies, has been manipulating public opinion for decades. Through television they deliver supposed scientific diagnoses in order to make people believe that nicotine is not addictive, that pesticides are harmless or that climate change is just a big lie. Robert Kenner decided to break down the way these people orchestrate mass propaganda, and through public opinion, government decisions. This film sheds light precisely on what the merchants of doubt do not want you to see. Part of the SU Environmental Film Festival 2017.
