7:30pm - 9:45pm
Film Unit Cinema in the Nelson Mandela Auditorium

Director: Bart Layton Cast: Evan Peters, Ann Dowd Country: UK/US Language: English Based on the real heist, which took place in 2004, American Animals follows the story of four students who attempt to steal a valuable book from the Transylvania University library. Sick of their ordinary lives, they seek the thrills of the mission, along with the monetary reward it brings. However, after initial confidence, they start to question why they did the heist in the first place. A non-stop, heart-racing thriller, this film questions the morals and incentive behind committing crime, whilst showing the adrenaline-fueled action that it produces. It also explores themes such as male privilege and entitlement, making it an almost sickening look at modern society. This would be a fascinating watch for any fans of action-thrillers.
