Set in 1980s Italy, Call Me By Your Name explores the discovery of a passionate and until then latent sexual desire of seventeen-year-old Elio when a graduate student in his mid twenties, Oliver, arrives to stay for the summer in his family’s breathtaking villa. The two of them soon bond and start a friendship that is in the beginning shadowed by Elio’s sexual attraction towards Oliver as well as Elio’s uncertainty regarding Oliver’s romantic feelings towards him. As the summer progresses, Elio’s doubts clarify and both give in to their mutual feelings and sexual attraction, making memories that neither of them will ever forget.
