Faces Places (PG)

Friday 23 November 2018
7:30pm - 9:20pm
Film Unit Cinema in the Nelson Mandela Auditorium

Director: JR, Agnès Varda Cast: Country: France Language: French Faces Places explores a range of uncommon topics, such as life in rural France and the lives of the people that inhabit the area. One of the directors, artist JR, does this by creating huge, beautifully detailed portraits of the people him and his co-director, filmmaker Agnès Varda, meet, which are ultimately plastered around the surrounding area. The film also explores the two director’s unlikely friendship, despite their differing ages, professions and backgrounds. The end product is an award-winning film that was also nominated for the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature last year and a must see for anyone who enjoys great works of art and engaging story-telling.
