Film Unit Cinema in the Nelson Mandela Auditorium

Director: Hirokazu Kore-eda Cast: Masaharu Fukuyama, Kôji Yakusho Country: Japan Language: Japanese Tomoaki Shigemori is a big-shot lawyer, who is tasked with the defence of the previously convicted Misumi, who will face the death penalty if found guilty. With new evidence coming to light around the case, Shigemori starts to doubt the events of the crime, and whether his client is guilty at all. Set in the high-stakes world of the courtroom, this film is a non-stop dramatic thriller that twists and turns in every scene, adding to the gripping puzzle that director Hirokazu Kore-eda creates. Another fantastic export of Japanese cinema, it makes you question the rights and wrongs of the judicial system, all whilst presenting a fascinating story with great acting.
