Director: Cory Finley Cast: Olivia Cooke, Anya Taylor-Joy Country: US Language: English A twisted-yet-hilarious thriller, Thoroughbreds is the story of two teenage girls, Amanda and Lily, who plot to murder Lily’s step-dad due to him threatening to send her to a boarding school, which would remove her from the family’s finances. To accomplish this, they enlist the help of a drug-dealer, the last role of the late Anton Yelchin, who is tasked with the job of pulling the trigger. Full of gripping scenes that are excellently led by the two leads, especially Olivia Cooke, who plays the emotionally detached Amanda with uncomfortable ease, this film is a fast-paced, bone-chilling look into the girls’ cold and loveless lives, despite their inherited wealth.
