Tully (15)

Sunday 18 November 2018
7:30pm - 9:20pm
Film Unit Cinema in the Nelson Mandela Auditorium

Director: Jason Reitman Cast: Mackenzie Davis, Charlize Theron Country: US Language: English Marlo (Charlize Theron) is sleepless, depressed and struggling. With two kids, one with a learning disability, and another on the way, her brother enlists the help of a night nanny, Tully (Mackenzie Davis), to ease the stress of parenthood. Although at first fiercely independent, Marlo soon comes to enjoy Tully’s company, as well as the help she provides around the house. Exploring suburban motherhood, and the mental and physical strains it places on the human body, this film is a smart and witty drama from the creators of Juno and Young Adult. Theron and Davis are both excellent, playing their respective, conflicting personalities well, allowing the film to further elaborate on its key themes.
