In Between (15) (Matinee)

Sunday 17 March 2019
3:30pm - 5:30pm
Film Unit Cinema in the Nelson Mandela Auditorium

Director: Maysaloun Hamoud Cast: Mouna Hawa, Sana Jammalieh Country: Israel/France Language: Hebrew/Arabic Living in Tel-Aviv, a westernized city in Israel, three Arab women struggle to find a balance between the strict rules of Arab society and the freedom of modern culture. Exploring a number of themes such as homosexuality, inter-Israeli politics and the integration of religion into modern life, In Between is a complex and intriguing piece of French-Israeli cinema. Despite its controversy, due to its portrayal of Arab women drinking and smoking, the film has to be viewed just for the ideas it questions and what it represents.
