Director: Nancy Buirski Cast: Tommy Bernardi, Robert Corbitt Country: USA Language: English A powerful and moving documentary, The Rape of Recy Taylor follows a black woman who, after being gang raped by six men, speaks up and fights back against bigotry and racism in post-war America, with support from another momentous figure in Civil Rights in Rosa Parks. Despite its bleak background, the film shows us Taylor’s inner strength, and how she didn’t allow a disgusting act to defeat her. Nancy Buirski’s dynamic and compelling direction allows for the story to shine, spreading a very relevant message about modern America.
