Extraordinary Insects - Anne Sverdrup-Thygeson
Wednesday 23 October 2019
7:30pm - 8:30pm
Firth Hall, University of Sheffield Western Bank, S10 2TN
Earth is the planet of insects and this is their extraordinary story. They are essential to sustaining life on earth – they give us food and uphold ecosystems. Their private lives are full of wonder from musical mating rituals to cultivating fungi for food. They preceded the dinosaurs, outnumber the grains of sand on all the world’s beaches and they will be here long after us. Anne Sverdrup-Thygeson is a Professor at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences.
