A new biography of Shelagh Delaney - a ground breaking, young, forgotten working class female playwright who put Northern working class lives centre stage. Delaney wrote, A Taste of Honey, when she was 19. The play premiered in 1958 catching Britain on the cusp of seismic social change. This is the inspiring story of how one woman shook the establishment of the 1950s and 1960s, helped trigger a cultural revolution and redefined what art could be.
