Director: Agnès Varda
Cast: Corinne Marchand, Antoine Bourseiller, Michel Legrand
Agnès Varda was a French female director, who died this year, but left a number of great films as her testimony; Cléo from 5 to 7 is one of these classic films. Cléo, a successful young singer, is being told during a Tarot card reading that she might be ill, potentially with cancer. As the rest of the information provided by the cards was accurate, she decides to take this revelation seriously and goes to get tested. After her test, she wanders around Paris for a couple of hours, nervously waiting for the results. This film is a fantastic portrait of the French capital, seen from the inside, and through the eyes of Varda, who captures its atmosphere and its colours. A must-see for all lovers of cinema, and all lovers of Paris!
