In a street of Brooklyn, multiple minorities try to cohabit, but the ever-exisiting tensions regularly resurface. On this day, the hottest of the year, the pressure is rising between the different groups. Mookie (Spike Lee), a young African-American man working for the Italian-owned pizzeria of the neighbourhood, tries to be a good guy, pay his bills and raise his kid. But as a fight starts between his friends and his boss about whether there should be black people on the Italian restaurant's "Wall of Fame", Mookie is caught in between, which unsettles his moral compass. Spike Lee's Do the Right Thing, is often listed amongst the best films of all times, as it captures the diversity of Brooklyn, describes the lives of its population and exposes how difficult it can be to live in harmony.
