Digital Life Drawing with Dogs

Wednesday 24 February 2021
6:30pm - 8pm
Online

Back by popular demand, Doggy Life Drawing returns and it's going digital! Come along and unwind with adorable dog models to draw in this Artist Assisted class brought to you by Dog Life Drawing - we have two very different dogs for you to draw from the comfort of your own home!

First, up will be LUTHER the Lurcher!

Luther has a lovely long snout, big ears and a strong angular body for you to practice those angles and lines.

Second up is OLIVE the Leonberger!

The Leonberger is a dog breed, whose name derives from the city of Leonberg in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. According to legend, the Leonberger was ostensibly bred as a "symbolic dog" that would mimic the lion in the town coat of arms.

Olive is going to test your drawing skills with her beautiful coat of fur!

How will the class work?

•    First I will give an introduction to the class and share some artworks by different artists to inspire.

•    You will get 30 minutes live drawing with Luther, 30 minutes live drawing with Olive then the last 30 minutes we will be drawing from 2 images taken professionally by each dog owner.

•    I will time poses with you and suggest fun techniques to try to get those creative juices flowing.

•    I will also be on hand throughout the whole class to give advice and help to anyone that needs a little creative direction.

What drawing materials should I use?

You can use anything you feel comfortable with but here are some suggestions…

•    Coloured pens

•    Pencils

•    Watercolours

•    Acrylic

•    Charcoal

•    Black ink

All drawing abilities are welcome, the main emphasis is on having fun, trying something new and being creative!
